I decided that there were so many people trying to keep a copy of Speed Razor going I would restart this group.

If you are an OLD Flying Pig from the glory days please post about it.

I might have help coming soon for those of you who need a new install ID.

Good luck.

I only found out about the demise of Speed Razor when I tried to log on to the In-Sync web site a month ago. Just when I want to upgrade from 4.8, it vanishes! I know I live in the past but this is ridiculous. I am indeed an Old Pig.

Ray, you are always more helpful and generous than I think anyone gives credit to you for. I missed you at NAB but it was a good year to get back into doing demos again. I was with Matrox for the AXIO system and it is a very serious hardware set working with PPro.

We just finished our last new project with SR and trusty DigiSuite. It will still be around in the studio but it is not the main system. The first project you will see from us will with the AXIO system will be in August from 20th Century Fox on store shelves across the country. Hope we can meet up soon if not maybe next NAB. :)

Thank you Charles, very much.

Yes we missed you too.

We went to an Axio demo yesterday and loved it. We are told they only sell turn key and will not sell the board set alone? Hmmm, that's not our style.

MY BUTTONS ARE POPPING OFF!
:t
I am SO proud of you Charles. For those who don't know Charles is one of those original Flying Pigs from the SR days. Now that he has made it big (did you say 20th Century Fox?) he still is a nice guy and even talks to me!

Hey we should have a contest. A prize for the first person to find either Jimmy Hoffa or Jamie Carr.

P.S.
If anyone needs to get an odd version of SR installed let me know. I may have unlock codes that will work, and I would be happy to share them.

Sorry Joey but there are not a lot of SR users around any more, most have moved to other software.

You might check and see of the old SR list still exists on Google.

Good luck.

hmmmm.
sorry if I offend but its a dead product that wont support its users that paid for it...

If you already have Speedrazor 5.5 installed, there is no need to rerun the keygen
1. Instal and copy the keygen into your SpeedRazor directory
2.Run SpeedRazor, click on Buy now, choose "Enter a license code", paste the Locking Code into the keygen,
quit SpeedRazor and click on New in the Keygen to create a lservrc for your system

No I agree!

I will be happy to post the key codes I have for the same reason if anyone wants them.

Whatís bad about this is right before the "outing" of the main programmer is that "Blade" was a big push.
What is the home user to-do when a company decides to abandon the pros?
Can you imagine if you had a 18K In-Sync DF system?
What I donít understand is why the product wasnít sucked up to a new company?
Razor is still a viable product!

latest I had on disk

Yikes. Reminds me of some production we did for Jamie Carr and In:Sync in the very early days.

I have lots of shelves full of stuff. Guess I am a SR pack rat!

Ray,

I am still using SpeedRazor, but it looks like I'm going to need to find a new editing software sooner rather than later. Based on the logic of SpeedRazor, what software currently on the market is most similar to SpeedRazor and would be the easiest to learn & use?

I can't say that I have used everything out there. I moved to Premeire about a year before SR starting to decline. (I sure did love SR though)

Then when I moved to Premiere Pro I was blown away. VERY nice, lots more like SR then the old Adobe product.

A lot depends on if you are doing DV only or HD or D1. (Although Premiere Pro does it all).

There are lots of products out there.

I just downloaded a free demo of Canopus Edious Pro. After I have a chance to try it I will post a review. You can also download a free trial copy from thier web site. I think Adobe has a free tryout of Premiere Pro also.

Have a download party. Most of the demos will work free for 30 days so you can really find what you like.

I will interested in what you land on.

Best..

Ray,

As you probably saw from my previous message, I just joined PigsFly yesterday. Today I spent a good amount of time looking through various topics. PigsFly is a GREAT resource and I canít thank you enough for all the time, effort and energy you have put into this project.

In getting back to your reply to my message, I have Matroxís DigiSuite LE and I want a system that is supported by Matrox. I have looked at Premier Pro and like what I see. However Premier seems to be geared primarily to DV. We have a lot of archived footage on Beta SP and I need a NLE that has a Batch Capture that works well with analog. I also have Boris Red and Inscriber Titlemotion and I would like to have a system that supports both of these. One of the messages I read said that Premier doesnít support Inscriber. Is that still true? I havenít played around with Premier enough to know if it will suit my needs, but if you happen to think or anything else I should consider I am all ears.
