Looks nice, thank you!
It's good to have different tools for this task.

In this new version for Fusion 6.3 and above:
  • A possibility to invert the depth map (to be used with V-Ray)
  • "Output Image" multibutton instead of a checkbox to choose between the Final Result and the Depth Power Map
  • Numerous optimizations of the internal structure

As it has already been mentioned, If you are defocusing a layer with objects on transparent background, you need to expand the edges of the objects in the depth channel so that it fills all the areas covered with the effect.
For this purpose, you can use another macro:

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let me introduce you to a pure awesomeness...

DepthDefocus_v07-1!!!

DepthDefocus_V07-1_SucksLess_CA_Profile.

Or shall I say it sucks MUCH less?

So, here are the changes since version 05-1:
  • General interface rebuilding: the parameter names are more intuitive, the default values are more typical, the controls are better arranged
  • 10 to 40% faster than previous versions
  • Axial (longitudinal) chromatic aberrations
  • Bokeh profiling (yes, that's right, you can totally control the edges of the bokeh you seem to see on the picture, furthermore, you can make any profile, even wavy bokeh of a poor zoom lens)
  • Allows you expand the sharp zone, maintaining the defocusing amount on the distant objects
  • Offers more proper perspective defocus strength correction (deceleration of the strength with distance)
  • Doesn't reset the focus point when you invert the Depth channel
  • Offers separate Foreground and Background strength controls
  • Lets you preview the actual depth channel in use and the sharp zone
  • Includes an option to reduce artefacts on the edges, shared by objects with significantly different distances

The documentation update is coming soon ;)
By the way, now the tool supports F1 (hit it when the node is selected to get the detailed description page)

They say, the Russians get the horse ready slowly, but then ride fast!

Here is an update:
  • Some typo correction
  • Multiple instancing behaviour correction
  • Better bokeh profile extraction
  • Bokeh Profile Strength control
  • Minor interface rearrangement

Wonder if anyone can help me with this...im going for the really shallow depth of field im a bit lost as to how to hook this up...dont know if i should use extend edges or not ...seems like i lose the z channel when i use it...seem to be in idiotville.

so really does this seem correct...seems like the blurred parts still have some detail which makes me think im doing somehting stupid

file attached...thanks

Is your depth information in the dedicated Z Channel?
It's meant to be in RGB in order for ExtendEdges to function properly.
