Gaffer--open Source Katana

A friend of mine told me about Gaffer earlier this week and I have to say that this looks interesting:

"Gaffer is a general purpose node-based application designed for use in the visual effects industry. It provides basic tools for procedural scene generation, shader authoring, rendering, and image compositing."

You should also check out their github page, Cortex is a really nice collection of scripts and tools as well.

Are you using it, Sven? I'm not running Linux at home nor am I laying any pipelines for the moment :)

I've played a bit with the Maya nodes (Cortex), but nothing in production, learned a lot from just looking through the code though.

Haven't tried Gaffer yet though.
I should compile it just to have a look really, we do have a couple of CentOS workstations.
