While the forum was down I've had time to play with Photoshop. Saw a nice button somewhere and decided to build a theme around it using the icons from icons8.com... I think Fusion 7 deserves a facelift...
But for now, it's just a work in progress psd file...

Can we have those themes downloadable for other users?

thank you guys!

I'll publish it in due time but I haven't even started messing with the skin zip file. It's just in Photoshop so far. :-)

So how does one change the splash screens? :)
I couldn't find anything in the skins directory.

It's not part of the skin, you'll need to patch the exe or a dll with a resource editor.

Thanks. And indeed, I've looked at Nuke more than at Fusion over the past few years. But the only thing I've blatantly stolen is the cross inside the checkbox ;-)

My goal with this theme is to have visual consistency and balance but I'm afraid Fusion won't let me change everything I want (e.g. the dropdowns and input fields or the padding and height of some elements). The time ruler is particularly nasty... its number fields are larger than in the tool controls, misaligned to the buttons, some buttons are higher than others... and I wasn't aware that there are two different fonts down there :o

Thank you, guys

I'm currently tweaking some final bits (slider knob a bit darker to match the buttons, experiment with ways to make the ends of the range control a bit thicker) and then I'll start building the skin file.

I've made the background gradient buttons a bit friendlier, but I think they are hardcoded in Fusion and not defined by the skin :-(

Just an FYI, you don't have to make a new fuskin file, Fusion will read in an folder in the skins directory as a fuskin file. This makes editing a lot easier. Also, you only have to include elements you want to change. Skins will "stack" in the preferences and use the other skins as fallbacks. This lets you tweak individual elements to suit.
