Hi,
on Fusion 6 I realized that it was faster to work on a machine with less cores if it had a higher cpu frequency, than working on a machine with twice as much cores if it was clocked only 20 percent slower.

In other words, fusion 6 was weak with hyperthreading.

Has this changed on fusion 7?

Anyone tested it or an experiences?

Thanks
Holger

it was always and will always that some task/tools are not very good at multithreading. it depends totally on the type of comp you doing how does it work with multithreading. most of the time footage I/O is a bottleneck
you can try to optimize the settings of the comp with "simultaneous branching" and how many frames to "render at once"

I've found 7.0 to be slightly faster than 6.x in that regard (on a 16 core, 32 thread machine). There also seem to be more cases where my total CPU usage is in the 80ies to 90ies as opposed to the 30ies.

Cheers,

Mike
