"We are very excited to announce that Eyeon has been acquired by Blackmagic Design. Now that we are part of a bigger team, we will be able to provide greater development and support for all of our products. We would like to thank the community for its support over the years and we look forward to the continuing development of Fusion and our other VFX and post production solutions. All current support and sales contacts remain the same and we will update you with more details in the coming weeks. I will be on the Blackmagic Design booth at IBC so if anyone would like to meet and chat about future directions for Fusion, please drop by!"

Hey Steve, great news and congrats. Must have been a tough decision after all these years, but a decision that really feels like it will push Fusion into a wider and recognised audience. This decision is exciting for the future of Fusion but more importantly absolutely rocks!
Can't wait to see the future of Fusion + Resolve.

This is probably the best thing that ever happened to Fusion!

I feel sorry for anybody who have recently bought a license though as this probably means Fusion may now soon be even free.
Depending if it will stay a stand alone app or be rolled into Resolve or if it will also have a lite version. Glad I let my license expire a while ago.

But this also means Fusion will be somehow bastardized.

After Resolve became free many pros started snobbing it and it lost lots of it's market value even though it became more powerful. All for the simple reason that now every joe schmuck could have it and they gave the full version away for free with their cameras. It somehow stopped being looked at as a high-end pro tool and boards got flooded with newbie amateurs coming from color grading in Premiere and FCP-X. More hollywood studio features started being graded in Mistika and other systems still considered true high-end.

But I guess this can't be worse than the pathetic situation that Fusion has been in now for years.

So I say this is great news for Fusion.

They couldn't get a better partner than BlackMagic IMO. Good news.

But BMD didn't buy this forum. If they wanted to spend money on better forums, they'd do it themselves.
