Hi!

I want to create a macro that could make 2.5D particles (not an
emitter, but particles themselves) fly along a 2D-path.

I'm trying to make it by means of the pCustom tool.

Is there any function in the pCustom that outputs an animated point value with time shift?

Anything like <Tool>:GetValue("<Parameter>", <Frame>) in the Simple
Expressions?

Are there any other ways to solve it?

Such a possibility was available in the Fusioneers Dot-s particles for
Fu 4.x

In the following composition particles fly along the path, but they are all in the same position. I want them to have position shift according to the birth time.

Yeah had the same problem a few scenes back. I had to use some 'pForces' to kinda get them in the right direction but i am still not really happy with the result.

Maybe some solution to problem could be using pSpawn and sets?

vaskas, Thank you for the collaboration, but your example can be recreated by attaching a pEmitter to a path.
I'd like particles not to be created along the path forming a tail, but to fly along it from the beginning to the end.

Here is an update: a separate setup for absolute particles to path constrain:
Particles_Follow_a_Path_Absolute_v02-2.comp

And another one which can interact with other particle forces:
Particles_Follow_a_Path_Relative_v03-2.comp
