Now it seems, that AE Plugins are not longer supported and of the lag of 64 Bit and networkslave support, I have to get another lens flare plugin.
I used John Knolls Light Factory and by the way I was very suprised thad Red Giant doesn`t offer any Fusion Plugins any more!
Can someone recommend a plug in, which has nearly the same quality of Light Facory?

saphire's ? they're ofx, working well, have lens AutoTrack and can color the flare according to semi-transparent color areas...
Don't have the flare elements though, AFAIK... try the demo version, maybe You will find them useful

cheers

Hi Dietmar.

AFX Plugins are supported for sure.

Which version of the KLF are you using?

Cheers.

Eric.

Where is the plugin folder for AFX like in the old versions?
But I rearly need a plugin which supports 64 bit and networkrendering!

AH!
Sorry, the folder is just not generated by the installation, so I thought AFX are not longer supported!

Sorry!

I*m much more stupid than I thought, the folder was not correctly ordered by name and I didn't thought of scrolling down!

Must be the heat! About 40C in my studio!

Thought I'd revive this thread instead of starting a new one...

I have written some Fuses to draw lens flares. They are to a large degree a personal coding exercise, but they helped me out in one case already and every time you don't have to switch to After Effects or Fusion's 32bit version to use plugins like Knoll or Optical Flares (for simple stuff) is a productivity gain. And maybe they are useful for someone else, either as a tool or a template for other Fuses.

I've uploaded them to Vfxpedia. FlareCircle draws a single reflection of a lens flare. It's designed after Nuke's flare node so you can use it to really mimic an existing flare in your plate with chromatic aberration. FlareStar draws the center of lens flares or star-shaped glints. FlareMulti draws multiple circles with random radius, hue and brightness. Instead of fading when the light source leaves the frame, the circles will vanish one after another.

This is an example that I've recreated from a reference photograph:

Looks very promising, thanks for sharing! :mf_dribble: seems like a great add-on, and yeah - going back to 32bit just for AE plugins is a pita...
again thanks:)
and to be more lazy - perhaps some presets have been made already?? :mf_gap:

Thanks guys for the nice feedback!

Xmare, on vfxpedia there are 3 settings for FuseCircle to show you how to use it. I don't have any other presets yet (most presets from other lensflare plugins are way over the top anyways ;-)).

By the way, kudos to eyeon's tech support. Stuart et al answered a lot of questions and patiently explained how to use some of the (cough cough :mf_prop:) less well-documented parts of the SDK.

Thanx Stefan, really nice !!!!
