Poll: Contrast Around Color Macro (4 member(s) have cast votes)

Do you want to have a Gamma Compensation control to work easier with linear images just like in the PrimaryGrade macro?

  1. Yes, it would be a nice option (4 votes [100.00%] - View)

  2. No, the macro works fine as it is for it selects the midpoint anyway (0 votes [0.00%])

  3. Stop telling me that Fusion doesn't deal well with linear images, perform all the gamma operations in your head! (0 votes [0.00%])

  4. No, I don't care about linear workflow (0 votes [0.00%])

Why the contrast in the image should always be adjusted around 0.5?

Well, it works most of the time for normally exposed sRGB images...

But what if you want to increase the contrast in a scene where the main objects are pretty dark without making them completely black? For example, in a night scene?

This macro lets you pick a color from the image and adjust the contrast, preserving the luminosity, hue and saturation of the sampled area.
As an option, you can adjust the contrast of the color channels separately.

And here it is, with the Gamma Compensation feature for linear workflow guys who prefer to color correct in screen color space!

If you use this option, you don't experience exaggerated blacks correction and reduced whites correction working in linear space.

Important note: the macro requires a 16 or 32 bit float point image as the input, but I can fix it for 8 and 16 bit integer if anyone really needs it.
