Hi all!

How do I fade away particles by distance from camera?

I thought I could just reverse this tip:
http://www.vfxpedia....s/Soft_Clipping

but I guess my math knowledge is to limited in this case....

So basically I want the particles to be fully transparent by let say 50 units from the camera and fully opaque at 0 distance.

Thanks for any help!!
Daniel

Here is a tool for that:

Download pTransparencyRange_v01-1

It can conceal particles either within a defined distance range or outside the range.
To use it, drag and drop the camera node to the Camera field of the tool first. You can also use any other 3D object to define the distance from.
Due to some particle toolset limitation, however, it has to re-define the particle color completely. So, you need to set the color in this tool's controls.

P.S. Particle tools can not be branched! :))))
